William McCall appeared in the 1840 census of Baldwin County as the head of a house­hold. Rebecca McCall, "wife of William McCall, formerly of Milledgeville, Georgia" died at the home of Alexander J. Cotten September 22, 1846 in Talladega, Alabama, ac­cording to "Abstracts of Deaths Reported in the Columbus Inquirer, 1832-1852." The volume also carried the obituary of "William McCall, 50, formerly of Milledgeville, died at Girard, Alabama in Russell County October 17, 1846."

John G. McCall, son of James G. McCall and Rebecca McCall, was married January 1, 1867 to Miss R. E. Bobo in Brooks County, according to "Early Georgia Marriage Roundup" by Joseph T. Maddox.

BRYAN COUNTY, GEORGIA====

It is believed that Capt. McCall was married about 1794 to Mary Bird, believed to be a daughter of Israel Bird. Jesse McCall was elected state senator from Bryan County, according to the November 11, 1796 edition of "Columbian Museum." He was a justice of the peace there November 17, 1798.

Jesse McCall and James Bird, perhaps his brother-in-law, received a passport "into the Creek Nation and back" Octo­ber 30, 1799, according to "Passports Issued by Governors of Georgia, 1785-1809" by Mary G. Bryan.

Ann Eliza McCall, age 6, eldest daughter of Capt. Jesse McCall, died December 25, 1802 at Black Creek in Bryan County, according to the January 4, 1803 edition of the "Co­lumbian Museum." " Her death was caused by the saw of a mill lacerating one of her arms and rendering amputation necessary. It was cut off from which she died 24 hours later."

Jesse McCall and Israel Bird inserted a notice in the January 4, 1803 edition of the "Columbian Museum" in which they deny that Joseph Bryan owns any land where he was au­thorized to build a bridge across the Great Ogeechee River by legislative resolution of February 16, 1799. They further stated that Jonathan Bryan, his grandfather owned lands there and made titles to same to James Bryan and that they, the said Bird & Mc­Call, purchased same from him. They forbid tresspass on the land.

Israel Bird McCall, age 10 months, son of Capt. Jesse McCall of Bryan County, died November 3, 1804, according to the November 22, 1804 edition of "Georgia Republican & State Intelligencer."

Jesse McCall was a registrant in Bryan County for the Georgia land lottery of 1805, but drew "two blanks." He was named a juror in Liberty County Inferior Court April 1, 1806 and again January 30, 1809. Jesse McCall and Dr. Adam Alexander received a deed to 864 acres on north Newport River from John Peacock, Sr. and William Peacock for $7,800, according to Liberty County Deed Book F, page 189. Jesse McCall and his wife Mary McCall of Liberty County deeded their portion of the land to Dr. Alexander March 13, 1810, according the Liberty County Deed Book G, page 67.

On October 4, 1811 Jesse McCall "of St. Mary's Parish, Territory of Orleans [Louisi­ana] gave power of attorney to Thomas McCall of McIntosh County, Georgia empowering him to sell his property in Georgia, according to Liberty County Deed Book G, page 269.

William McCall sued John Sands in July 1805, according to Bulloch County court records. William McCall "of Bulloch County" received a passport October 10, 1803 to "explore south and western territories of the State of Georgia and some parts of the Orleans in the Spanish do­minions." One of the five signatures on the passport was "Charles McCall, J.P." Wil­liam McCall and Malachi Hagen of Bulloch County were issued passports to traverse the Creek Nation October 31, 1803, according to "Passports Issued by Governors of Georgia, 1785-1899."

"Hannah Everitt McCall, age 24, wife of William McCall and only daughter of John Ever­itt, Esq of Bulloch County" died June 28, 1805 in Bulloch County, according to "Marri­ages and Deaths, 1763-1820" by Mary Bondurant Warren. "Her aged father and mother, several brothers and three orphans survive her.". "Hannah Everett McCall, only daugh­ter of John Everett of Bulloch County," died June 28, 1805 at age 24, "leaving three helpless orphans," according to the July 5, 1805 edition of the "Southern Patriot" of Savannah which published a lengthy memorial to her.

Sarah McCall, daughter of Charles McCall and Hannah Everett McCall, was born about 1800 in Bulloch County. She was married January 18, 1816 to Simon Fraser, according to Bulloch County Marriage Book 2A, page 28. Her second husband was Jeremiah Halsey, according to Bulloch County Will Book 3A, page 50. She was married for the third time to Alexander Stewart. She was appointed administratrix January 27, 1848 of the estate of Alexander Stewart. Her fourth husband was Hardy Everett, according to "Keenan Fam­ily."

A daughter, Sarah Ann Smiley Fraser, was born to them in November 1819. She grew up in Liberty County and was married March 22, 1838 to Nathaniel G. Hall, according to the Hall-Brannen family bible.

Mary Ann McCall, age six months, daughter of William McCall and Hannah Everitt McCall and granddaughter of John Everitt, Esq, died October 4, 1803 in Bulloch County, ac­cording to "Marriages and Deaths, 1763 to 1820." "Everitt now is near 50 years old and has 12 children and grandchildren and has never before lost one of his offspring."

James McCall, a resident of Greene County in 1795 was the focus of "A Study of One Mc­Call Family" published in 1979 by Kenneth Scott McCall, 208 Stonewall Road, Ardmore, Oklahoma, 73401, a descendant. He owned 100 acres on Sandy Creek in Greene County in 1798. He was a witness to the will of William Billingslea April 4, 1800, according to Greene County Will Book D, folio 3. He was described as "white, married with chil­dren" when he registered for two draws in the 1805 Georgia land lottery in which he was unsuc­cessful. James McCall was witness to a deed April 4, 1800, according to Greene County Deed Book A, page 265.

In 1802 he was an overseer of the estate of Samuel Steer of Tulane University. The widow, Mary Steer, reported a total of $430 paid to him between September 12, 1802 and November 4, 1803. In 1808 James McCall lived in Adams County, Mississippi.

"Shadrack McCall" and Thomas McCall were enumerated as heads of households in the 1840 census of Claiborne Parish. It is believed that the former was Shadrack Porter McCall and that he was married about this time, wife's name Seleta Mirandia. Shortly afterward they revoved to nearby Caddo Parish.

"S. P. McCall" deeded land to R. T. Quarles in 1851, according to Caddo Parish Deed Book F, page 755. It is believed that Shadrack Porter McCall died in 1858 in nearby Bossier Parish, Louisiana.

Seleta Mirandia McCall received a deed to herself and her minor children to 840 acres of land for $840 March 5, 1860 in Caddo Parish. Other parties involved in the deed were James Oliver McCall, Robert Jefferson McCall, Isaac McCall, Shadrick Porter Mc­Call, Sarah Jane McCall, Louisa McCall, Nancy McCall, S. A. McCall, L. James Oliver McCall, believed to be a son of Shadrack Porter McCall and Seleta Mirandia McCall, was born October 13, 1841 at Keithville, Louisiana, according to the application of Mrs. Grace Thomson Slaughter to "Founders and Patriots of the Republic of Texas" dated August 20, 1953.

He was married December 3, 1868 to Elizabeth Williams, according to Panola County, Texas marriage records. She was born July 8, 1850 to James Williams and Delilia Palvadour Williams in Panola County. James Williams was born at Keatchi, Louisiana February 11, 1795 and was married there January 1, 1839 to Delilia Palvadour, a native of France. James Williams had removed to Panola County during the days of the Texas Republic. He died there February 12, 1868, and she died in 1883.

James Oliver McCall and Elizabeth Williams McCall on December 23, 1870 purchased "all interest in the es­tate of Shadrack P. McCall, deceased, late of Bossier Parish, Louisiana" from John B. Adams and Sarah Jane McCall Adams, according to Caddo Parish Deed Book T, page 29. She is believed to be a sister.

Robert Jefferson McCall deeded "his interest in the S. McCall estate" to James Oliver McCall in 1872, according to Caddo Parish Deed Book T, page 29. On September 18, 1872 Robert Jefferson McCall received a deed to 216 acres in DeSoto Parish from Henry C. McCall for $648, according to Deed Book T, page 479. Henry C. McCall had received the land earlier in the year, according to Deed Book T, page 87.

James Oliver McCall received a deed from Columbus Cartwright and Sarah Amanda Cartwright April 5, 1890 to 120 acres in the Quirk survey located three miles southeast of San Augustine, Texas, according to San Augus­tine County Deed Book O, page 461. They deeded 15 acres in the Dillard survey located four miles northeast of San Augustine to John Thompson, their son-in-law, for $100, according to San Augustine County Deed Book S, page 539. He died June 14, 1902, according to "San Augustine County, Texas Cemetery Records." She died June 20, 1936 and was buried beside her husband.

The auction of the estate of Thomas D. McCall, deceased, was held prior to January 18, 1858, according to Caddo Parish Deed Book L, page 782. According to a notice pub­lished in the newspaper "South Western," 280 acres were sold at $5 per acre. Mrs. Su­san C. McCall was identified as his widow.

Following an advertisement in the "Shreveport Times" Thomas D. McCall bought a lot in a sheriff's sale for $50 about 1879, according to Caddo Parish Deed Book Z, page 584. Unpaid taxes on the land had been assessed in 1877 and 1878 to Henry McCall.

On February 26, 1913 he deeded a lot in San Marcos, Texas to Nellie Liles McCall, according to Hays County Deed Book 63, page 403. Edward McCall and Nellie Liles McCall deeded a lot in Kyle to Nick J. Thiele and Lilybell McCall Thiele, their daughter, February 26, 1913, according to Hays County Deed Book 63, page 402.

On October 31, 1914 Nellie Liles McCall, "feme sole," Harold McCall, Lilliebelle Thiele, "joined by husband Nick Thiele" deeded land in the Edward McCall estate to J. M. Sprouse and wife, Lena B. Sprouse, according to Hays County Deed Book 66, page 543. Nellie Liles McCall continued to live in Hays County in 1941 when she attested to the birth certificate of her son.
