Equations

Love that never seeks recompense,
Equates to obedience:
In the Golden Rule, Christ taught
That all who follows Him ought
To love with heart, soul, and mind
God above and all mankind.

​Tithing, though meager or immense,
Equates to obedience:
Bring your tithes, declare the Lord,
And blessings will be outpoured
On you from Heaven’s rich store
Like none you’ve received before.

​Faith, practiced with all confidence,
Equates to obedience:
The Bible says that we should
Trust in God, for He is good,
And to walk within His way,
For to trust is to obey.

​Thanksgiving, sincere and intense,
Equates to obedience:
The Psalmist says in all things,
Give thanks to the King of kings,
So our ever present mood
Should be one of gratitude.

​Remorse, when a sinner repents,
Equates to obedience:
To be saved, one must obey
Christ’s command to turn away
From the path to Hell and strife
To the one that leads to Life.

​Witnessing throughout earth’s extents
Equates to obedience:
Christ commanded us to go
Into all this world of woe
And, with our deeds and our speech,
To ever seek, win, and teach.

​Worship practiced without pretense
Equates to obedience:
God’s commands He etched in stone
Tell us to praise Him alone,
For He is, in countless ways,
Worthy of our earnest praise.
