This may sound to some absurd:
‘Believe’ is an action word,
Not something that’s only spurred
Now and then when hearts are stirred
By some inspiring sermon we have heard.

​It’s no word stored in our head,
Revealed only in things said;
Mere words can’t go in Christ’s stead;
By them, the hungry aren’t fed;
Words alone can’t ease the afflicted’s bed.

​In its fullest meaning true,
‘Believe’ means to go and do
And relentlessly pursue
Proclaiming the whole world through
The one who gives life anew.
